I’m neither a wine drinker nor an expert (I’ll have one glass here and there) so I wanted your opinion on the wines they served at Gaggan. I just don’t “get it”. I’m of course referring to the natural wines trend. May be trend is the wrong word?

Yes it's an all-natural line-up at Gaggan, as it is at Ms Maria & Mr Singh. Both him and his partner, sommelier Vlad, feel very strongly that is the right route, in line with their sustainable promise. I only drink bubbles, red & rose (no still whites), so I only tasted a few...more than enough! As with all wines, some are of a higher calibre than others. I expect the margins are better with the natural wines, so he's making more revenue ;) Interestingly, on this trip I noticed more restaurants and bars in Bangkok with a stronger nat-wine focus, than two and a half years ago. I wish we had a larger selection here in Dubai, frankly.

Thanks. I'd love to know the tasting menu concept you tried :) I'm very selective as to which ones I try, given for the reasons I explained, more often than not, they disappoint.
