Where Restaurateurs Eat: Column 2
Neha Anand, founder & MD of Three Layer Hospitality that owns Jun’s shares her favourite restaurants.
Eid mubarak to those celebrating. I am just back from Baku that juxtaposes old with new so brilliantly - and am playing catch-up. A culinary travel guide is in the works 😋
If you’ve recently joined me on this Substack journey, have a read of the launch ‘Where Restaurateurs Eat’ column to give you some context. Please feel free to nominate aspirational female restaurateurs leading their businesses. You never know, they might not be on my radar. And could land themselves a feature here.

And now let’s hear from…
Neha Anand - founder & MD, Three Layer Hospitality that owns Jun’s
Top three go-to, favourite restaurants in the UAE:
Marmellata is a gem in Abu Dhabi's culinary scene known for its exceptional pizzas. And exceptional they are, as I would gladly make the drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi just to eat chef Raj’s pizzas. What sets Marmellata apart is not just the outstanding food, but also the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Raj and his team. The experience and the pizza are always fantastic.
Kinoya is my go-to restaurant in Dubai, after my own. The ramen is simply the best here made with absolute precision and love. The sashimi is fantastic too. The vibe of an izakaya is true to its name and a shining example of everything I love about Japanese dining.
LPM sets the standard for culinary excellence in the city and for good reason. What truly impresses me is its unwavering commitment to quality and consistency. Despite the passage of time, LPM delivers the same unparalleled dining experience with every visit.
One home country restaurant:
Paashh, a beautiful homegrown vegetarian restaurant in Pune, India run by Vaishali Karad, fearlessly experiments with flavours, while maintaining a warm and inviting atmosphere. Every time I have visited, it’s been a delightful experience filled with laughter and delicious food.
One restaurant located elsewhere internationally:
Every aspect of the experience at Odette in Singapore is meticulously curated, from the flawless service to the impeccable presentation of each dish. But what truly sets Odette apart is watching chef Julian Royer helm his kitchen with a smiling face throughout. It’s clear - through the glass door - that there’s camaraderie among the team in the kitchen, with their friendly banter, which adds an extra layer of joy to the experience.
